Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Scott Heying was raised in San Antonio and graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 1994. He attended The University of the Incarnate Word, and later returned to school, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He then received his orthodontic specialty training at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston before returning home to San Antonio to open his private practice.
Besides being trained in the most up-to-date orthodontic care and technologies, Dr. Heying frequently attends continuing education courses and is an active member of many local, state, and national dental organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and sites on the State Peer Review Council.
Outside the Office
Dr. Heying and his wife, Katharine, reside in San Antonio with their three sons, Cainan, Max, and Chance. Outside the office, Dr. Heying enjoys spending time with his family, playing racquetball and golf, and other outdoor activities. Since the mid-1990s, he has harbored a special passion for disc golf and maintains an intense dislike for running
